Shaw has been a member of the Health First Board of Trustees since 2007. He also serves as a member and chairman of the board of directors of Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center, Health First Palm Bay Hospital and Health First Insurance.

Shaw (retired) was senior vice president and general manager of L-3 Communications Corporation. He is current member and past chairman of Florida Institute of Technology School of Business Board of Overseers and past chairman of Florida Institute of Technology Consulting Advisory Group.

He earned his bachelor of science from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and his master of business administration from Boston University.
