CENTER FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS Programs

Please visit the Calendar for upcoming programs

The Center for Family Caregivers serves as a point of entry to our community’s continuum of care and services available to family caregivers of older adults. Funded by the generous support of the Health First Foundation since 2004, services and programs at The Center for Family Caregivers are offered free of charge.

Programs include:

CAREGIVER EDUCATION ~ Programs are designed to help you on your caregiving journey. You will gain skills to provide care with confidence and compassion, cope with the many challenges caregivers face, and navigate the healthcare system, without losing yourself in the process. Ultimately we hope these training sessions help improve both your life as well as the life of those in your care.

CAREGIVING ESSENTIALS FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS ~ is a signature training program of the Center for Family Caregivers. This 30-Hour Program is designed to give new and veteran caregivers invaluable tools to provide creative and practical tips to handle difficult situations, emotions and decisions, communicate more effectively in challenging situations, build confidence, reduce stress and understand symptoms and behaviors to provide more positive outcomes and ultimately reach the power and serenity of acceptance and patience.

CARING FOR THE CAREGIVER LECTURE SERIES ~ Dr. Visa Srinivasan presents a series of lectures monthly that will provide the caregiver tools to help improve the care and quality of life for loved ones and themselves. A framework of solutions and strategies are provided during these sessions to caregivers to help them age successfully while coping with challenges.

SUPPORT GROUPS ~ Caregivers unite! You are not alone... Meetings to gain insight, perspective, and problem-solving strategies, provide an outlet for emotions, share valuable knowledge and learn about available resources. Support groups are led by caregiving professionals.
