Dental Benefits for Small Group Plans (2014)

The Affordable Care Act requires Small Group employer plans that begin on or after January 1, 2014 to cover certain essential benefits, including pediatric dental care. In Florida, this requirement includes dental care for covered persons up to the age of 19. Health First is proud to partner with Delta Dental Insurance Company* (Delta Dental) to provide this coverage to our members.

HMO, POS, and PPO medical plans may be combined with either dental plan option. Employers choose which dental option will be automatically provided to eligible employees and dependents who have medical coverage through Health First. Members may waive this dental coverage only if they have other pediatric dental coverage that complies with the requirements of the Affordable Care Act and submit an updated Health First Enrollment/Change Form 15 days before the policy becomes effective.
