First Flight, Brevard's only air ambulance serving East Central Florida since 1988, is the emergency helicopter transport service of Health First, based at Holmes Regional Medical Center. First Flight is operated by Metro Aviation.
First Flight is among the first responders in medical emergencies and traumas. We serve Brevard, Indian River, and portions of Osceola and Orange counties. Once First Flight's communications center receives a call, our communication specialist evaluates the flight request and immediately notifies the flight team. The helicopter is dispatched and en route to the scene within minutes, saving precious moments of the patient's "Golden Hour."
When transporting patients between facilities, the flight team is in the air within minutes of confirming the destination hospital is prepared for the new patient.
The Trauma Center at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center is designed to treat the most life-threatening injuries. The Trauma Center serves all of Brevard County and portions of Indian River and Osceola counties.
The Trauma Center's goal is to provide a full-spectrum of trauma services, from safety and injury prevention programs, to advanced life-saving care for patients, to follow up treatment at our Trauma Clinic.

Health First VitalWatch is Central Florida's only "eICU" - electronic intensive care unit - that combines telemedicine, software, and 24/7 electronic monitoring technology.
VitalWatch provides Health First's critical care physicians and nurses the ability to monitor real-time vital signs, laboratory results, and complete electronic medical records of patients in the various intensive care units (ICU) at all four Health First hospitals from a central location.
This life-saving service is provided at no cost to the patient.
If necessary, the VitalWatch staff can also direct a patient's care on the spot via live audio and video connections to the patient's room. All information is transmitted over private data lines to ensure privacy and security.
