During fiscal year 2000, Cape Canaveral
Hospital (CCH) treated approximately 29,000 emergency patients.
Of those 29,000 patients only five were transferred to Holmes
Regional Trauma Center (HRTC), upon being stabilized, because
they met Trauma Alert Criteria.
In the same year, Brevard County Emergency Medical Services personnel
and/or First Flight transported 138
patients meeting trauma criteria from the Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral
area to HRTC. This represents less than one percent of the total
number of emergency patients treated at CCH.
Total number of emergency visits
Together, Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center,
and Palm Bay Community Hospital Emergency Departments treated illnesses
and injuries of more than 100,000 of our neighbors.
