Growing to meet the needs of our community
The City of Palm Bay is at the heart of the community we serve, and is Brevard's fastest growing area. We are committed to keeping pace with the increasing health care demands of our area. In April 2007, we broke ground on a $83.5 million expansion project. The expansion will more than double the size of the hospital addressing the hospital's robust utilization and the future growth needs of Palm Bay and its surrounding community.
The $83.5 million expansion of Palm Bay Community Hospital will include the following:
- an additional 92 new, all-private inpatient beds.
- expansion of the Emergency Department with 10 new observation beds.
- two new Special Procedures rooms for expanded GI Lab capability and future services.
- an additional 12 bed Intensive Care Unit.
- an expanded food service and cafeteria area.
- the relocation of the main entrance, energy plant, and a second backup generator.
