Awarded grant for DriveABLE program
The Community Foundation of Brevard awarded a $1,500 grant to the Health First Aging Institutes East Central Florida Memory Disorder Clinic (ECFMDC) on Sept. 11, 2007. The grant will enable the ECFMDC, through its DriveABLE program, to offer a driving assessment to individuals with various health conditions who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
A licensee of the DriveABLETM program, the Memory Disorder Clinic helps medically at-risk drivers and their families obtain an objective evaluation of a persons safe driving capability. The DriveABLETM program offers a 90-minute comprehensive screening designed to identify unsafe drivers.
Funded primarily by the Alzheimer's Disease Initiative of the Florida Dept. of Elder Affairs, the ECFMDC is a non-profit agency that provides a continuum of clinical, educational, support, and research services to people in Brevard County who are concerned about memory loss and other cognitive impairments. For further information about any of these services, please call the Memory Disorder Clinic at (321) 768-9575.
