Award given by ADVANCE for Nurses Magazine
COCOA BEACH, FL (April 12, 2006) - ADVANCE for Nurses magazine has chosen the nurses from the Emergency Department at Cape Canaveral Hospital as winner of its Best Nursing Team 2006 Award.
The nursing team was chosen for its flexibility in handling all situations, including its fluctuating seasonal population and cruise ship passengers, and for supporting disaster drills conducted by Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Air Force Base. Additionally, the team was singled out for creating its own volunteer council to help improve communication, cleanliness, staff recruitment and recognition, quality outcomes, and problem-solving.
"I'm so very proud of our nursing team. They consistently go above and beyond the call of duty for our patients and it's great to see them receive this recognition," said R. Roy Wright, President of Cape Canaveral Hospital. "This award demonstrates our continued commitment to providing quality and compassionate health care in our community."
For 20 years, ADVANCE for Nurses has provided information on clinical, management, professional, and career development issues for nurses.
