Health First Foundation to host Annual Golf Classic

Charity event to benefit the Health First Aging Institute

ROCKLEDGE, FL - The Health First Foundation will host its Annual Golf Classic fundraiser on Saturday, September 25. Since last year's 'dual-course event' was such a great success, the tournament has again been scheduled at two of the finest and most popular golf clubs in Brevard - Suntree Country Club and Duran Golf Club.

Tournament proceeds will help raise funds for the Health First Aging Institute, which provides healthcare services for older adults and their caregivers.

Tournament chairman for the second year in a row Mark Sley is honored at the prospect of helping elderly patients with diseases such as Alzheimer's and other memory disorders and is working hard to make this event the best ever. "The primary goal of the Aging Institute is to enrich and improve the health and quality of life of seniors," Sley stated. "We believe that this is a laudable organization and one that many community residents connect to easily," he added.

The programs offered by Health First Aging Institute are especially critical to Brevard County, where one out of five residents is over age 65. While Florida has the highest percentage of seniors in the nation, Brevard leads the way with the highest percentage in our state.

Tournament players can choose either the Duran Golf Club or the usually members-only Suntree Country Club on a first-come, first-served basis. The tournament format will be a four-player scramble with challenging games and fun contests. The event will conclude with a "19th Hole Gala" the same evening at Suntree Country Club. Tickets to the Gala are $65 per person. Sponsorship opportunities for the tournament range from $500 to $15,000 and include both golf and Gala reservations.

The Health First Foundation promotes and facilitates philanthropic support for the Health First family of medical affiliates, which include four not-for-profit hospitals - Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center, Palm Bay Hospital, and Viera Hospital (scheduled to open in 2011).

Health First Aging Institute is a proud member of the Health First family.
