Featuring nationally renowned leader in the care of Alzheimer's disease, Peter V. Rabins, MD, MPH
ROCKLEDGE, FL — Health First Aging Services' Center for Family Caregivers is pleased to welcome Dr. Peter V. Rabins for a special presentation. Dr. Rabins, regarded by the medical profession as a national leader in the care of Alzheimer's disease, is co-author of "The 36-Hour Day: A Family Guide to Caring for Persons with Alzheimer's Disease, Related Dementing Illnesses, and Memory Loss in Later Life."
On Saturday, February 23 at 3 pm, Dr. Rabins will share his vast knowledge at the Health First Center for Family Caregivers, located at 3661 South Babcock Street in Melbourne. The presentation will be held in the Marge Spezzano Community Room and refreshments will be served. Seating is limited and reservations can be made by calling 321-434-7625.
Dr. Rabins received a BA in Political Science from the University of Florida, a medical degree from Tulane University and a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health. After a psychiatry residence at the University of Oregon, he completed a one-year fellowship in consultation/liaison and neuropsychiatry at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and has been on the faculty there since 1978. Dr. Rabins has focused his career on the study of psychiatric disorders in older persons. His current research focuses on the effectiveness of current therapies for Alzheimer's disease, the development of measures in the quality of life in persons with Alzheimer's disease, and the care of patients with late-stage dementia.
