To host lecture on Traumatic Brain Injury October 15
Sponsored by Holmes Regional Medical Center and Mothers Against Brain Injury, an educational lecture on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) will be held on Monday, October 15, at 10:00 am in the Holmes Regional Medical Center's Auditorium. The featured speaker is Tracy East-Porter, Executive Director & Founder of Mothers Against Brain Injury.
This lecture is designed as both an inservice event to educate clinical professionals, as well as an informational presentation for the general public. Goals for the event include:
Educating clinical professionals and the general public on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and the immediate needs of families in the acute phase of injury through personal experience.
Explaining the importance of the statewide tote bag program and how it helps families move forward through the acute phase of injury with hope, compassion, comfort, useful tools, and resource information.
Demonstrating how providing information in such a compassionate way helps to educate families on advocacy, so that a better outcome can be achieved for their own loved ones.
Helping families and clinical professionals connect to statewide organizations that can help educate and update them about the ongoing needs of those with TBI and their families.
