Sherri Fair Caplan, DO
Obstetrics & Gynecology
Sherri Caplan, DO, shares her OB/GYN practice with Health First Physicians Gynecologist Robert Clayton, MD. Their Cocoa Beach office is comprised of highly trained office staff and medical assistants devoted to providing the most optimal care exclusively for women.
Dr. Caplan is a skilled, committed, and compassionate physician who incorporates all aspects of general Gynecology and Obstetrics, including surgical and non-surgical procedures. She believes it is imperative to focus on caring for all phases of a woman's OB/GYN needs.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, where she lived with her parents, older brother, and identical twin sister (also a physician in Central Brevard) she moved to Orlando with her family when she was eight. She went on to follow her desire since fourth grade to become a physician who "delivers babies."
Dr. Caplan stayed in the Orlando area after graduating from Oviedo High School to attend the University of Central Florida, where she received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology. Then she attended Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale, where she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and served a five-year residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, during which she held the prestigious position as OB/GYN Chief Resident. Shortly after completing her Residency, she was Board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was recently re-certified.
Dr. Caplan joined Health First Physicians in July 2001 and is an active member of the Health First Cape Canaveral Hospital Medical staff, serving as Chairman of multiple committees.
Her husband, David serves as Chairman of the Health First Foundation's Golf Classic Tournament. They live on Merritt Island and enjoy their pets-- three dogs -Sammy, Max, Bogie and cat, Putter. In her free time, she enjoys quilting, cruising, and golfing with David.
