Ramesh Girjashanker, MD
Ramesh Girjashanker, MD is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He currently shares hisCocoa Beach practice with fellow Health First Physicians, Sara Switzer, MD.
Dr.Girjashanker and Dr.Switzer's practice is not your average walk-in clinic. Their practice provides very personalized care for their patients; which is evident by treating the same patients and their love ones for years. Dr.Girjashanker states that he feels his teams provides their patients with not only excellent patient care but immediate turnaround time for patient call backs or follow up appointments.
Dr.Girjashanker knew since an early age that he wanted to work in medicine after taking care of his Father's medical issues. His uncle was also a general physician and he enjoyed reading all of his uncle's medical books and hearing his stories. He states that the only subjects in school that interest him were the sciences. He attended the University of Houston in Houston, Texas and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and an minor degree in Psychology Upon graduation he then completed a two year research program with Bayer College of Medicine in cell biology before attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He completed his internship at the University of South Florida in internal medicine and performed rotation rounds at various facilities in South Florida; such as Tampa General Hospital, Mofit Cancer Center and James A Haley VA Hospital. After his residency training was completed in 1998, Dr.Girjashanker joined Health First Physicians. He knew he wanted to be part of this particular health care system because he knew it was an organized structure committee to their physicians and patients. In his free time he enjoys running (NYC marathon in 1992 and Houston marathon 1991), hiking, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Girjashanker is part of the Cape Canaveral Hospital medical staff.
