James Kasiewicz, MD

General Surgery

James Kasiewicz, MD, is Board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. In 2012, he joined the Health First Medical Group as an attending physician for the Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center's Department of Surgery. Prior to joining Health First, he was an attending surgeon for Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce, FL.

A native of Scranton, PA., Dr. Kasiewicz earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA. He then earned his Medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his Residency training in General Surgery from Western Pennsylvania Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital, both in Pittsburgh, PA. He then completed a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Kasiewicz is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support. He served as a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at Florida State University School of Medicine.

He has published several research papers, made numerous presentations, and authored a chapter on "Resuscitation of Hypovolemic Shock" for the Textbook of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Kasiewicz is married and has three children. His interests include acoustic guitar, piano, and racquetball.
