Mahboob Alikhan, MD, FACP, is a Board-certified Gastroenterologist who joined Health First Physicians in 2007. He specializes in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases of the digestive system. His primary career focus is educating the community about Colorectal Cancer prevention, which is the second-leading cancer killer in the United States. He is very proud of the fact that he sees all of his patients himself in his Palm Bay office. He states that his practice "...is not a factory where patients are rushed in and out. We are a compassionate group and we truly listen to our patients and make sure we are meeting all of their healthcare needs."
After graduating from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor's of Science Degree, Dr. Alikhan received his Doctorate of Medicine from Loyola University - Stritch School of Medicine. He then trained in Internal Medicine at Loyola University of Chicago, and decided to sub specialize in Gastroenterology by pursuing a Fellowship at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
