Nathan Allison, MD, is Board-certified in general surgery and was first to be fellowship-trained in robotic bariatric and general surgery in the state of Florida. His general surgery practice is oriented to colon, gastrointestinal cancers; hernia repairs; gallbladder, appendix; as well as robotics-assisted general surgery and bariatric (weight-loss) surgery, including adjustable gastric band, gastric sleeve, gastric bypass and revisional bariaric surgery. Dr. Allison also performs colonoscopies and endoscopic surgery.

Dr. Allison attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. He completed his internship and residency as well as a fellowship in minimally-invasive surgery, endoscopic surgery, and robotics-assisted surgery at the University of Texas in Houston.

His office offers a comprehensive medical and surgical weight-loss program for bariatric patients with a main focus on losing weight successfully for the benefit of their long-term health.

Victor Benezra

Victor Benezra, MD is board certified by the American College of OB/GYN. He graduated from the University of Miami with Honors. He received his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey, in 2000. He completed his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where upon completion in 2004, Dr. Benezra was honored by his professors and peers with the "Most Outstanding Teacher" award.

Dr. Benezra is a specialist in performing laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. He has published numerous studies in peer review journals and has presented studies and case reports at annual conferences for both the American College of OB/GYN and the American College of Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Benezra is Chairman of the OB/GYN Department at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne and is a member of the Health First Health Plan physician advisory committee.

His practice focuses on treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, contraception, HPV and abnormal pap smears, pelvic prolapse, and urinary incontinence.

In addition to his general OB/GYN practice, Dr. Benezra specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including both advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. He is a certified DAVINCI Robotic Surgeon and has special interest is laparoscopic hysterectomies and endometrial ablations. He has performed over 1,500 laparoscopic surgeries and is one of the first gynecologists to perform robotic-assisted hysterectomies using the daVinci Robotic Surgery in Brevard County.

Dr. Benezra has been performing Endometrial/Uterine Ablations since 2000. He offers Gynecare Thermachoice Uterine Balloon Therapy, Her Option Cryoablation procedures, and Novasure Uterine Abalations. He routinely performs these office-based procedures in an effort to control (or eliminate) menstrual periods in most women without surgery or hormones.

He performs the Essure permanent sterilization procedure. This is a non invasive office based sterilization method that requires no cutting and no scars for women who have completed their families and desire permanent sterilization.

John Bomalaski

John Bomalaski, MD, is a Board-certified, fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist in Melbourne, Florida. His practice is comprised of a dedicated staff providing comprehensive medical care for women with gynecologic cancers throughout Brevard County. Brevard's first and only robotic-trained gynecologic oncologist, he's one of only 750 such specialists in the United States.

Dr. Bomalaski received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he also served a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology. He completed a three-year fellowship in treating and diagnosing gynecologic cancers at the University of South Florida and H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Bomalaski has authored and co-authored numerous articles on the treatment and management of gynecologic cancer in national and international obstetrics and gynecology specialty medical journals. From 1990 to 2004, he served in the U.S. Air Force where he rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel.

A member of the Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center medical staff, he's also a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Kenneth Sands

Kenneth Sands, MD, is a Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Total Joint Specialist who joined Health First Physicians in 2011. Dr. Sands specializes in hip resurfacing, anterior total hip replacements, computer-assisted surgery, total and partial knee replacements, complex and revision total joint surgery, and hip and knee arthroscopy. He's a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons as well as the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy.

Dr. Sands grew up in upstate New York and attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Following Duke, Dr. Sands attended Tulane Medical School, where he fell in love with both Orthopedic Surgery and his wife-to-be. It was also during this time that he joined the U.S. Army.

Following Medical School, Dr. Sands returned to New York for his Orthopedic Residency at SUNY Downstate. Inspired by the possibility of restoring a person's function and quality of life led him to pursue a Fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at the Florida Orthopedic Institute. Following this training, he expanded his clinical skills as Director of the Total Joint Program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. He also served as a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopedics at Texas Tech University School of Medicine.

In 2006, Dr. Sands left the U.S. Military to pursue private practice in Rome, Georgia. There he helped transform the local community hospital into a nationally-recognized Total Joint Center of Excellence. In 2011, he was recruited to join the Health First Physicians team. Dr. Sands continues his endeavor to restore both function and quality of life for his orthopedic patients.
