Hospitalist

A hospitalist is a provider who specializes in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. Hospitalists work closely with your primary care provider and frequently inform him or her of your condition.

When you require hospitalization, your provider or an Emergency Department physician will coordinate your admission with a hospitalist. The hospitalists are on site 24 hours a day and work closely with all hospital staff to coordinate your care.

Gabriel Elias Cueto, MD is part of our Health First hospitalist team. He earned his medical degree from St. Matthews University and his Bachelor of Arts from Florida International University. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.

Before joining Health First, Dr. Cueto served as an Urgent Care Physician with Sinai Walk-In Clinic. He also has experience in Primary Care and Level 1 Trauma Center Care and is certified on invasive line placement, Endotracheal Intubation, skin lesion removal, biopsies, joint injections and other procedures. He also served as a sideline team physician with Denison University and other high schools.

Dr. Cueto was on the clinical teaching staff with The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH and Ohio University in Athens, OH. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has special interests in sports medicine, preventative screening, and high acuity disease process. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
